INTERVIEW

First of all, introduce yourself to our readers. How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Tsuki D Sureiya

How did you start experimenting with images?

As a business student, I found myself yearning for a creative outlet to escape the monotony of my studies. I discovered a Disney app on my iPad that allowed me to create pixel art animations, and I was instantly hooked. This became my passion, and I spent countless hours exploring the possibilities of the app and honing my skills. However, all good things must come to an end, and eventually, the app was discontinued, leaving me to find new outlets for my creativity.

Can you tell us about the process of creating your work? What is your artistic routine when working?

As soon as I wake up, I am filled with a vision that consumes me until it becomes a reality. To bring my vision to life, I scour the internet for inspiration, using dummy models and objects to create the perfect pose and perspective. By constantly tweaking and refining my creations, I am able to bring my vision to life in a way that is truly my own.

How do you plan your artworks and how do you choose what subjects to work with?

My artistic vision often includes three distinct elements: beauty, popularity, and a captivating scenery. I draw inspiration from my love of music, creating art that illustrates the scenes of a dramatic narrative. Pop culture icons often make appearances in my work, adding a layer of relevance and familiarity to my creations.

What are your main sources of inspiration?

As an artist, I am constantly inspired by my dreams. These visions in my mind often foretell events to come, sparking new ideas for my work. In addition to my dreams, I am also influenced by my favorite artists, the world around me, and the mysteries of the unseen. I am particularly intrigued by the spiritual realm and the workings of consciousness. These varied sources of inspiration drive me to experiment with new techniques and mediums, constantly pushing the boundaries of my art.

What do you feel makes your work unique and truly your own?

As an artist, I have always been drawn to a unique and captivating style, one that is bold and soft, technical and natural. Even when attempting to emulate my favorite masters, I find myself drawn back to this signature technique and aesthetic, imbued with a certain energy and vibrancy. It is this distinct artistic voice that sets my work apart and makes it truly my own.

What themes do you pursue with your work? And what do you aim to communicate to the viewers?

Themes of the financial revolution, artificial intelligence, and the shifting world order are at the forefront of my work, inspiring me to explore the intricate world of peer-to-peer digital cash and NFTs. Rather than seeking to convince my viewers, I aim to spark a silent communication, inviting feedback and understanding on these complex topics. Like a game of Final Fantasy, my art delves into the fantastical world of technology and its impact on society.

You work with digital works. Do you find that the shift to digital exhibitions and art fairs has helped you promote your work?

Digital exhibitions and art fairs have certainly boosted commercial sales for me, but I have found a renewed passion in the traditional crafts of oil painting and sculpting. Using the techniques I have mastered in the digital realm, I am now bringing a fresh perspective to these classic mediums.

Do you have any new exhibitions or projects you would like to share with our readers?

In my latest work, I have delved into the world of GANs, using my signature hand dotting technique to create a re-imagined, unfinished GAN experience. The result is a stunning abstract piece that evokes the works of masters like Picasso and de Kooning. The main subject of this piece is a medieval princess in metal armor, a nod to the feudalistic undertones of the technology world. This work will be exhibited at a future art fair, stay tuned for updates.

Finally, where do you see your career going in five years from now?

As an artist, I have always been drawn to the fascinating world of robotics. Recently, I have been working on a top-secret project that has completely captivated my attention. While I cannot reveal much about it at this time, I can say that it will be a game-changer in the world of art. In fact, I have no doubt that within the next five years, this project will be ready to unveil, taking the art world to a whole new level. Stay tuned for further updates from Tsuki D Sureiya, the artist who is pushing the boundaries of creativity and technology.
